Core responsibilities
•Cost analysis:
Study and collect data on business costs, including materials, labor, and overhead, and analyze actual costs against standard costs.
•Reporting:
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on costs, profit margins, and budget adherence.
•Budgeting:
Assist in preparing and reforming budgets and forecasting future expenses.
•Inventory management:
Reconcile finished goods inventories and facilitate physical inventory counts.
•Efficiency improvement:
Partner with departments to identify and report on cost-saving opportunities and recommend changes to processes and policies.
•Audit support:
Prepare and maintain audit schedules and assist with internal and external audits.
•Month-end and year-end close:
Assist with journal entry review, account reconciliations, and closing activities.
Required skills and qualifications
•Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is typically required.
•Experience:
Minimum of a few years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
•Technical skills:
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software.
•Analytical skills:
Excellent ability to analyze large sets of data, identify trends, and provide insights.
•Attention to detail:
Meticulous attention to detail is crucial for accurate record-keeping and analysis.
