We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in the catering, food service, and restaurant sector. The successful candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and practices, along with a proven track record in managing financial operations in a dynamic environment. This role will involve overseeing various accounting functions, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies, while also providing valuable insights to enhance financial performance. You will be instrumental in preparing financial statements, managing budgets, and conducting audits, making this position vital to our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, ensuring they are accurate and compliant with accounting standards.
- Oversee the monthly closing process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts to aid in strategic planning and decision-making.
- Coordinate and lead internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
- Monitor cash flow and liquidity, implementing strategies to optimize working capital.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare tax returns, aiming to minimize tax liabilities.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support business initiatives.
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and professional environment.
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations to ensure best practices are followed.
Preferred Candidate:
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar role within the catering, food service, or restaurant industry.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in mentoring and developing team members.
