Job Purpose

The Cost & Budgeting Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate cost accounting, effective budget preparation, and financial control across all company departments. The role combines technical accounting accuracy with financial analysis to support management decisions, cost optimization, and profitability improvement. This position serves as the link between Finance, Production, Purchasing, and Operations to ensure Intertrade’s financial plans and actual performance are aligned.

Key Responsibilities

• Track and record all production costs (materials, labor, overhead).
• Analyze product cost structure and identify areas to reduce waste or expense.
• Compare actual vs. planned costs and highlight significant variances.
• Support management in reviewing pricing and profitability per product line.
• Ensure correct allocation of costs across departments and activities.
• Assist in preparing the annual company budget and monthly forecasts.
• Collect and verify data from different departments for budget preparation.
• Monitor spending vs. budget and report key deviations.
• Support financial planning for new projects and investments.
• Prepare monthly cost and budget performance summaries.
• Provide clear, data-based insights for management decisions.
• Help management understand cost drivers and improvement opportunities.
• Support financial reviews and board reporting when required.

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics (CMA/CPA is a plus).3+ years of experience in cost accounting and budgeting (preferably in industrial/manufacturing sectors).Strong command of costing systems, variance analysis, and budgeting principles.Proficiency in Excel, Odoo ERP, and financial reporting tools.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.High accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity in handling financial data.Excellent communication skills for cross-department coordination.
