We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our dynamic team in the construction and building industry. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing valuable insights to support business decisions. Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
2. Monitor and analyze financial performance by comparing actual results with forecasts and budgets, identifying variances, and providing recommendations for improvement.
3. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare necessary tax filings, ensuring timely submissions and adherence to legal requirements.
4. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing, payment processing, and collections, to optimize cash flow.
5. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, collaborating with department heads to gather necessary financial data and insights.
6. Conduct regular audits of financial records and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
7. Provide financial analysis and support for project costing and profitability assessments, contributing to strategic decision-making.
8. Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.
9. Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting regulations to ensure the company remains compliant and competitive.
10. Participate in training and development initiatives to enhance personal and team accounting skills.

Preferred Candidate:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with relevant certifications such as CPA or ACCA preferred.
2. Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably within the construction or building industry, demonstrating a solid understanding of industry-specific financial practices.
3. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
4. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to maintaining high standards in financial reporting.
5. Proficient in accounting software and tools, with advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and analysis.
6. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
7. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
8. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, fostering positive relationships across departments.
