Job Vacancy: Accountant (5–7 Years of Experience)

Location: Children’s Museum Jordan – Amman, Jordan
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role:

The Children’s Museum Jordan is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance Department and support daily financial operations, auditing activities, invoice processing, and procurement-related financial control.


Main Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Prepare daily journal entries and maintain accurate financial records.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure timely updates of financial transactions.

  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with accounting standards (including IFRS where applicable).

  • Support budget preparation and monitor spending against approved budgets.

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Process supplier invoices with proper verification and documentation.

  • Review, validate, and reconcile invoices, receipts, and payment requests.

  • Manage accounts receivable ensuring timely collection and accurate posting.

  • Follow up on outstanding balances with vendors and partners.

Purchasing & Procurement Financial Control

  • Coordinate with the Procurement & Supply Chain teams to match:

    • Purchase Orders (POs)

    • Goods Received Notes (GRNs)

    • Supplier invoices

  • Verify compliance with purchasing procedures and approval thresholds.

  • Maintain a complete audit trail for procurement-related financial documentation.

Auditing & Compliance

  • Prepare supporting schedules and documents for internal and external audits.

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, financial policies, and procedures.

  • Identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.

  • 5–7 years of professional experience, preferably in:

    • Non-profit organizations, OR

    • Industrial/commercial companies.

  • Strong experience in invoice processing, procurement documentation, and audit preparation.

  • Proficiency in accounting systems, including:

    • GP System

    • ERP Systems

  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, financial formulas).

  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
