Job Description

• Develop and implement cost accounting systems and procedures to ensure accurate product costing and profitability analysis.
• Analyze production costs, variances, and trends to provide actionable insights for operational efficiency and cost reduction.
• Prepare detailed cost reports and present findings to management for strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and validate cost allocations across departments.
• Monitor and reconcile inventory transactions, ensuring accuracy in raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods accounts.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing cost estimates and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements related to costing.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and audit schedules related to cost accounting.
• Continuously review and enhance costing methodologies to align with best practices and evolving business needs.
• Train and mentor junior accounting staff on cost accounting principles and procedures.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in cost accounting, preferably within the agriculture, manufacturing, or export sectors.
• Proven track record of analyzing and optimizing cost structures in a dynamic business environment.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory management, and financial reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, office-based setting.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to non-financial stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
