Position Overview:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial and accounting activities of the project. This role involves complex account reconciliation, financial analysis, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and assisting in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proven experience in a similar role.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Verify authenticity of supporting documents, ensuring compliance with regulations before inputting into accounting software.
  2. Reconcile accounts by meticulously comparing statements, transactions, and supporting documents.
  3. Verify receipts and balance field office cash sheets with precision.
  4. Ensure all transactions have adequate documentation and approvals, maintaining organized filing systems.
  5. Follow up on accounts payable settlements, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding payments.
  6. Promptly and accurately enter project-related transactions into the finance system.
  7. Post journals as directed by the Finance Manager, adhering to established protocols.
  8. Reconcile project bank accounts and credit cards monthly to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  9. File and archive accounting and supporting documents appropriately to maintain an organized record-keeping system.
  10. Provide necessary documents for project financial planning.
  11. Immediately report any finance-related problems or regulatory issues to appropriate authorities.
  12. Ensure financial security by adhering to internal accounting controls and protocols.
  13. Receive and verify incoming goods against orders or invoices to ensure quality.
  14. Monitoring an accurate office inventory list for efficient resource management.
  15. Prepare annual and monthly financial forecasts for project expenses and prepare transfer and advance requests.
  16. Verify the project payments to suppliers and subcontractors aligned with the signed contracts.
  17. Maintain the project contracts documents with suppliers and subcontractors
  18. Maintain the field accounting procedures and policy
  19. Monitor the procurement of goods and services ensuring compliance with requirements spelled out in the prime contract and Procedures Manual
  20. Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of project physical resources
  21. Complete additional assigned tasks, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

المهارات

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in accounting.

Skills and Abilities

  • Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Full knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards.
