We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Internal Auditor to join our dynamic team in the Oil & Gas industry. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in evaluating the effectiveness of our internal controls, risk management processes, and governance practices. This position requires a deep understanding of auditing principles, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. As a Senior Internal Auditor, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive audits, providing recommendations for improvements, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. You will work closely with various departments to foster a culture of accountability and transparency while safeguarding the organization’s assets.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct detailed internal audits across various departments to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with policies and regulations.
2. Prepare comprehensive audit reports that outline findings, recommendations, and action plans for management review.
3. Collaborate with management and staff to develop and implement corrective action plans based on audit findings.
4. Monitor the progress of corrective actions and ensure timely completion of recommendations.
5. Evaluate the organization’s risk management processes and provide insights on risk mitigation strategies.
6. Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to enhance the auditing process.
7. Assist in the development of the annual audit plan based on risk assessments and organizational priorities.
8. Provide training and guidance to junior auditors and other staff members on auditing techniques and best practices.
9. Participate in special projects and investigations as needed to address specific concerns or issues.
10. Build strong relationships with stakeholders to promote a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.

Preferred Candidate:

1. Proven experience as an Internal Auditor or similar role in the Oil & Gas industry.
2. Strong knowledge of auditing standards, regulations, and risk management practices.
3. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and recommend solutions.
4. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey audit findings and engage with stakeholders.
5. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work products and reports.
6. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
7. Strong interpersonal skills to foster collaborative relationships across the organization.
8. Professional certification such as CIA, CPA, or CISA is highly desirable.
9. Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
10. Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry trends.
