الوصف: 

The Accountant and Cash Assistant support the effective financial management of the organization by ensuring accurate accounting records and proper cash handling. The role is responsible for processing financial transactions, managing petty cash, maintaining supporting documentation, and assisting with financial reporting in compliance with LEOCRVAW’s internal policies, donor requirements, and Lebanese financial regulations. The position contributes to strong financial control, transparency, and accountability across all programs and operations.

 

Position Information

  • Department: Finance
  • Supervisor: Finance Manager
  • Duty Station: Tripoli (1 day / week in Akkar Office)
  • Contract Type: Full-time
  • Languages Required: Arabic and English
  • Start Date: based on fund, expected on Early January 2026

1. Key Responsibilities

A. Accounting & Financial Records

Record and process all financial transactions accurately in the accounting system and Excel.

Maintain up-to-date and well-organized financial files, including invoices, receipts, contracts, and payment documents.

Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and support schedules.

Support bank and cash reconciliations on a regular basis.

 

B.Cash & Payment Management

Manage petty cash in accordance with LECORVAW’s internal financial procedures.

Process cash and bank payments after ensuring complete and approved supporting documentation.

Maintain accurate cash books and ensure daily cash balance verification.

Participate in regular cash counts.

 

C.Compliance & Controls

Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies, donor requirements, and Lebanese labor and financial regulations.

Verify the accuracy, completeness, and eligibility of financial documents before processing payments.

Support internal and external audits by preparing and organizing financial documentation.

 

D.Administrative & Coordination Support

Coordinate with program and operations teams to ensure timely and accurate financial processing.

Assist in tracking project expenditures against approved budgets.

Support procurement and logistics processes by verifying financial aspects of purchase requests and payments.

Perform other finance-related tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager.

2. Required Qualifications & Skills

A. Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of relevant experience in accounting, cash handling, or finance support roles (NGO experience is an asset).
  • Good knowledge of Lebanese labor law and basic financial regulations is an advantage

B. Skills

  • Strong numerical and accounting skills with high attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic financial tools (Visual Dolphin Knowledge is a plus)
  • Ability to manage cash transactions accurately and maintain records
  • Good understanding of financial procedures and documentation
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism

3. Working Conditions

  • Based in Tripoli, with frequent travel to field sites.
  • May require weekend or emergency response hours.
  • Exposure to emotionally distressing situations; psychosocial resilience required.
