Job Title: Chief Accountant

Job Summary

The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with laws and regulations, and effective financial controls. The role supports management by providing timely financial information and strategic insights.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

• Odoo ERP system Experience
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
• Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes
• Prepare financial reports for management and stakeholders

Compliance & Controls

• Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations
• Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes
• Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting policies
• Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts
• Monitor budget performance and analyze variances
• Provide recommendations to improve financial efficiency and cost control

Taxation

• Prepare and review tax returns (VAT, corporate tax, withholding tax, etc.)
• Ensure timely tax filings and payments
• Liaise with tax authorities when required

Team Leadership

• Supervise and guide accounting staff
• Assign tasks, review work, and provide training and development
• Ensure deadlines are met with high accuracy

Management Support

• Support senior management with financial analysis and reports
• Provide insights to support business decisions
• Assist in strategic financial planning

Skills

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Professional certification preferred (CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent)
• Minimum 5–8 years of accounting experience, including supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience with ERP/accounting software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and leadership skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience in medical, pharmaceutical, or trading companies
• Knowledge of VAT and international accounting standards
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
