We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team in the Oil & Gas sector. As an integral part of our finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, particularly within the oil and gas industry, and will be adept at utilizing accounting software and tools to streamline processes and improve accuracy.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare, examine, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  2. Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  3. Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank statements and other financial accounts to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.
  4. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations based on financial data.
  5. Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and assist in the preparation of tax returns.
  6. Collaborate with internal departments to gather financial information and support decision-making processes.
  7. Monitor and analyze financial performance indicators to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  8. Support the external audit process by providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
  9. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Preferred Candidate:

  1. Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  2. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
  3. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manage complex spreadsheets.
  4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  5. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with various stakeholders.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  8. Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is a plus.
  9. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in accounting practices.
