We are hiring a qualified General Accountant with 5 years+ relevant UAE experience to join our growing company. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong foundation in accounting principles and a genuine interest in growing professionally within a dynamic organization.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an accounting role
- Construction industry experience is an advantage
- Strong expertise in general ledger management and Profit & Loss preparation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Holds attested academic qualifications
- Professional licenses or accounting certifications are an advantage
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Arabic language skills are a plus
- Open to all nationalities
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with IFRS/IAS and UAE regulations.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, bank reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ability to analyze and interpret feasibility reports to support the company’s future growth and strategic direction.
- Coordinate with project managers and procurement teams to monitor budgets, verify invoices, and ensure timely payments.
- Ensure prompt processing of supplier invoices and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing and providing required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
- Assist with VAT computation and filing, where applicable.
- Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to accounting procedures for efficiency and accuracy.

Essential Skills
- Strong knowledge of IFRS/IAS and UAE accounting practices
- Solid understanding of general accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable
- Experience with ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Familiarity with budget monitoring, expense allocation, and basic project costing (optional)
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent time management and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team
- Knowledge of VAT computation and filing (advantageous)
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in financial matters
