Primary Purpose of the Job
Sr. Treasury Analyst (Back Office) /
Primarily responsible for the overall Treasury Back Office Operations, Treasury Reporting/Accounting and secure payments/settlements of Treasury financings/deals for Group 1 of the companies. In addition, also act as a primary focal point for Internal Audit, External Audit, State Bureau Audit for Group 1 companies.
- Supervise cash/inter-bank transfers, Treasury fundings/deals settlements function to ensure that all payment/settlement requests for Group are planned, properly approved, and timely executed based on authorized payment requests, and also to ensure all governance are complied.
- Supervise the accounting function for Treasury Instruments (Assets and Liabilities) like cash, loans & investments, borrowings, to ensure that QatarEnergy's financial statement reporting is compliance with IFRS Standards and accurate. Ensures that all compliance, payment, and administration requirements in relation to bonds, swaps and other loan derivative instruments are met in order to mitigate the risk of default under loan and derivative contracts.
- Supervise Treasury Back Office Operations including Bank Statement uploading into SAP, Bank Reconciliations, clearing of outstanding items and dashboard KPIs reporting to ensure within the agreed turnaround time.
- Supervise and monitor the regular upkeep and maintenance of Bank and Treasury related General Ledger master data in SAP whenever there is new set-up of companies, banking relationship, counterparties, within QEIL Group, SPVs under QatarEnergy
- Review and reports on the performance of QatarEnergy's Investment (Equity/Debt) portfolio listed in the Exchange locally or abroad.
- Ensures that all compliance requirements for Group Treasury banking transactions, investments, based on QatarEnergy's approved policies and procedures, are met through the implementation of controls and reporting.
- Coordinates the business continuity for Group Treasury to avoid losses arising from non-continuation due to SAP system down, unforeseen natural disasters, and attacks. Develop appropriate processes and coordinate between various business process owners and JV's / subsidiaries to identify, monitor, report and mitigate these risks impacting QatarEnergy's reputation.
- Leads and act as the focal point for Treasury periodical/annual audit reviews and requirements from Internal Audit, External Audit, State Bureau Audit and Quality Audit.
Required Experience and Skills
- At least 10-15 years of experience in medium to large organization with adequate exposure to accounting & finance functions. Previous experience in similar capacity in an oil and gas industry would be an advantage
- Knowledge of systems in a computerized business environment which includes knowledge and experience in MS PowerBI, MS Office packages, SAP TRM or similar advanced ERP systems.
- Excellent people management, leadership, and coaching skills.
Educational Qualifications
Bachelors in Finance/Commerce / Business / Accounting and/or globally accepted professional qualifications like a Certified Public Accountant / Chartered Accountant / Cost & Management Accountant etc
