Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant with experience in project-based businesses such as events, architecture, or interior design. The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day accounting operations, project cost tracking, vendor payments, and financial reporting while supporting fast-paced, deadline-driven projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Finance
Maintain accurate books of accounts, general ledger, and journal entries
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Handle accounts payable and receivable, including client invoicing and collections
Manage bank reconciliations, cash flow, and petty cash
Project & Cost Accounting
Track project-wise costs, budgets, and profitability
Monitor job costing for events, fit-out, and interior projects
Coordinate with project managers on budgets, variations, and cost controls
Analyze project financial performance and report variances
Compliance & Reporting:
Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, VAT filings, and statutory requirements
Assist with audits and liaise with external auditors and consultants
Maintain proper documentation for contracts, purchase orders, and expenses
Vendor & Client Coordination:
Manage supplier payments and accounts
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
Support contract billing, milestone-based invoicing, and retention tracking
Requirements & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
1–2 years of accounting experience (experience in events, architecture, or interiors is highly preferred)
Strong knowledge of project accounting and job costing
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Zoho, or similar)
Excellent Excel skills (budgeting, reporting, analysis)
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
Preferred Skills:
Experience working with multiple concurrent projects
Understanding of contracts, BOQs, and project billing structures
Ability to work closely with operations and project teams
Strong communication and organizational skills
