We are a growing trading and distribution company based in Ajman, UAE, seeking a detail-oriented and qualified Accountant (CPA or ACCA) to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring stock movements, issuing Local Purchase Orders (LPOs), and coordinating closely with suppliers to ensure uninterrupted supply chain operations. Salary Range: AED 3,500 - 5,000 per month (based on experience and qualifications)

Primary Responsibilities

Stock Monitoring & Inventory Control

Monitor daily stock movements and maintain accurate inventory records in the ERP/accounting system.

Conduct periodic physical stock counts and reconcile variances with system records.

Track slow-moving, obsolete, and near-expiry inventory and report to management.

Maintain minimum and maximum stock levels; flag reorder points to avoid stock-outs or overstocking.

Verify goods received against purchase orders and delivery notes.

Local Purchase Orders (LPO) & Procurement Support

Prepare, issue, and dispatch Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) to approved suppliers in line with company policy.

Ensure all LPOs are properly approved, numbered, and filed for audit purposes.Match LPOs with supplier invoices and delivery notes (three-way matching).

Maintain an up-to-date LPO log and status report for management review.

Supplier Coordination & Follow-up

Follow up with suppliers on order confirmation, delivery schedules, and pending shipments.

Reconcile supplier statements DAILY and resolve any discrepancies promptly.

Process supplier payments in line with credit terms and cash flow planning.

Build and maintain professional working relationships with local and international suppliers.

Negotiate payment terms, discounts, and credit limits where appropriate.

General Accounting Duties

Record daily financial transactions including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.

Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and maintain the general ledger.

Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Prepare and file UAE VAT returns in compliance with FTA requirements.

Support the annual external audit by providing schedules, documents, and explanations.

Assist with cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.

Maintain proper filing of all financial documents in hard and soft copy.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Certification

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) qualification - Mandatory.

Experience

4 to 7 years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably within a trading, distribution, or wholesale environment in the UAE.

Proven experience with inventory accounting, LPO processing, and supplier management.

Solid understanding of UAE VAT regulations and FTA filing procedures.

Experience in implementing SAP BUSINESS ONE ERP.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in accounting software SAP BUSINESS ONE.

Strong Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, reconciliations).

Familiarity with inventory management modules and three-way matching.

Soft Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English.

Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
