The Opportunity:

Puffy is looking for a detail-oriented and a self-driven Junior Accountant to join our team in Dubai. You will be part of a lean accounting team alongside a Senior Accountant, an Accountant L2, and a fellow Junior Accountant, reporting directly to the Accounting Manager.

You will be responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, reconciliations, and financial reporting across our portfolio. You'll work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to keep the books clean, accurate, and audit-ready.

We're looking for someone who brings solid accounting fundamentals and sees AI as a core part of their work. This includes defaulting to AI-assisted workflows, automating reconciliations, catching anomalies, or pressure-testing their own output.

What You'll Own:

• Perform daily and monthly account reconciliations across multiple entities

  
  

• Maintain and update general ledger entries with accuracy and timeliness

  
  

• Support month-end and year-end close processes

  
  

• Prepare and send invoices, monitor accounts for timely payments

  
  

• Prepare financial reports and assist with management reporting

  
  

• Enter and verify financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness

  
  

• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions

  
  

• Assist with audit preparation and documentation

  
  

• Ensure adherence to relevant accounting regulations, company policies, and industry standards

  
  

• Use AI tools and LLMs (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) to streamline routine accounting tasks, identify anomalies, and improve reporting efficiency

  
  

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across the RGG portfolio on finance-related queries

  
  

• Support ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned

  
  

What You Bring:

Must Haves

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field

  
  

• Minimum 1 year of hands-on accounting experience

  
  

• Strong grasp of accounting fundamentals and double-entry bookkeeping

  
  

• Working knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS standards

  
  

• Moderate to advanced proficiency in Excel (lookups, pivots, data validation)

  
  

• Prior experience with cloud-based accounting tools such as QuickBooks Online or ZohoBooks

  
  

• Demonstrated ability to adapt to and work with AI tools like Claude for Excel, Artifacts etc. in a professional context

  
  

• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks independently

  
  

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  
  

• Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving tools and processes

  
  

Nice to Haves

• Experience with US sales tax compliance and reporting

  
  

• Familiarity with UAE tax regulations (VAT)

  
  

• Prior exposure to eCommerce accounting workflows

  
  

• Experience with Excel automations
